Nobile 1942 – Pontevecchio Woman ml.75 – Edp

In the magical atmosphere of the magnificent‘ Florence of the de’ Medici, comes a perfume with a strongly evocative name.
The Florentine Iris is again the star of the fragrance, but in a deliciously feminine expression.
Catherine de’ Medici cleverly wore perfume on her gloves and on her body: in this way she avoided the odours of other people, who did not regularly wash themselves in those days. This gestuelle of hers was invented by Renato Bianco (or, as he was called by the French: René le Florentin) her personal and trusted perfumer, whom she followed to the court in France after her marriage. In addition, he had invented several ways of wearing perfume especially for her: including the famous ‘perfumed pomegranate’, a special spherical jewel to be worn around the neck or on the belt.

Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, coriander seeds.
Middle notes: iris, jasmine, Bulgarian rose.
Base notes: white musk, amber woods, sandalwood.
